Wounds Into Wisdom Book Presentation

On this evening at the French Friedrichstadt Church Georges-Casalis-Saal in Berlin, Germany, Rabbi Tirzah Firestone will present passages from her work and will be accompanied musically by Albrecht Gündel-vom Hofe (piano) and Andreas Henze (double bass) as well as the cantor Jalda Rebling. Together, words and music will open up an emotional sound space in which to think about ways to overcome trauma and return to life.

Contributors:

Albrecht Gündel-vom Hofe is a mathematician, musician and composer and has been working intensively in the field of dialogue between religions for many years.

Andreas Henze is a freelance double bassist. In addition to his work as a theater musician, he travels the world with ensembles of different styles such as jazz and Latin American music and is a singer and songwriter.

Rabbi Dr. Tirzah Firestone is known as an author, psychotherapist, and leading figure in the international Jewish Renewal movement. Her writings include Kabbalah and Jewish feminism. Firestone was ordained in 1992 by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Schalomi and is the founder of the Nevei Kodesh Synagogue in Boulder, Colorado, where she lives with her husband as rabbi emeritus. Her book Wounds into Wisdom won the Nautilus Award Gold in Psychology and the Jewish Women Caucus Book Award of the American Association for Women in Psychology .

Jalda Rebling is an actress, Jewish cantor and specialist in Jewish music from the Middle Ages to the modern era.
